Who's Using Text Message Reminders?
Everybody! Most recently, hospitals are using SMS to remind no-show patients of appointments. It's cheap, and sine most people constantly carry their cell phones with them it's also very effective. According to a recent survey, hospitals have seen no show patients reduced by 30% since they started using text message reminders.
Is this site owned by a cell phone company?
No. This site is the hobby of a normal guy who is just a bit too forgetful. After searching the web for a "free reminder service" and only coming up with paid services, he decided to create his own.
What will you do with my phone number?
Send you a text message reminder exactly when you want it. That's it. We won't send you any advertisements. We won't sell your number or share it with any 3rd party companies. We definetly won't call you. We believe in our task of sending free no hassle reminders. We don't think our users should be subject to any unwanted spam or advertising.
How does it work?
Most major cell phone companies accept text messages through email. That is, a Verizon customer can email their cell phone at 313555555@vtext.com. We've just compiled a list of them all, and use that to send it to you when you want. Our program runs every 15 minutes and sends out reminders up to an hour in advance (so you'll always be on time).
What if I don't know the provider?
No Problem! Just select the auto detect option from the drop down. Using a 3rd party service called TeleFlip (we are not affiliated with teleflip), we can still figure out what the provider is in most cases. Users of this feature are bound by Teleflip's TOS and should check out their website at www.teleflip.com. The auto detect / unknown features of our service only work with US based phone numbers at this time.
Does it work with international cell phones?
Yes! As long as your provider accepts SMS messages via email. We support some of the larger Canadian and European cell phone providers, but if yours isn't listed, send an email to txt2day@gmail.com and we'll try to get it added.
I don't see my cell phone company
If it's a US based company, just use the "auto detect" option and your message should still be sent. Then send us an email at txt2day@gmail.com with the name of your provider (and their website if you have it), and we'll try to get them added as soon as possible. For other countries, just send us the provider name and website, and we'll do our best to support them in the future.
